CAT | Worship
Worship is to pray to the Almighty with absolute bhakti and devotion. No set rules are there to worship, as to when, how and where. We all know God is everywhere and He gets pleased with just a flower too and its devotion and surrender He loves. There different ways one can reach God. In one of our mythological stories we have the story of Prahalada a small child who had immense faith and devotion on the Almighty and how his father who was a king by name Hiranyakasapu tried to change the boys mentality by not worshipping the Almighty and pray to him but the little child was so engrossed with the God that nothing could change him and all the worst methods by his father even to kill him were futile as the Lord always protected the child. The child was given poison mixed with milk, thrown from hill top , thrown into the mid sea so on and so forth but as the only name the boy knew was Narayana he was taken care. Another story also depicts how the lord helps who entirely surrender to him that is the story of Draupadi, during Vastrapaharanam how he came to her rescue only when she raised both her hand and sought his help. Complete surrender with devotion is when God will be pleased. In a gist there are nine ways to worship and reach God. They are Sravanam, listening good things,Keertanam, singing the praise of God , Smaranam, thinking of Him, Pada Sevanam doing services with utmost devotion, Archanam showering flowers, Vandanam, folding hands in a reverent way, Dhaasyam to serve as a servant, Sakhyam to be like a friend and atma nivedanam complete surrender. To be a virtuous person one has to implement the above methods and seek the blessings of the Almighty.
